SIZE

SIZE - CUT - CRIMP - BOND

Use the Sizing Template and align the “M/B Groove” line on the buccal groove of the maxillary 1st molar. Then measure the height of the contour on the cuspid or bicuspid to determine the length of the Maxillary Arm.

Align the permanent marking on the cuspid/bicuspid hook with the required maxillary arm length. The “CUT-LINE”  locates where to cut the maxillary arm.

CUT

SIZE - CUT - CRIMP - BOND

A Hard Wire Cutter or Lab Cutter is recommended for cutting the Maxillary Arm to length. The permanent markings on the Maxillary Arm are 2 mm apart. A 1 mm increment in length reduction is accomplished by cutting the Maxillary Arm at the mid-point between two permanent markings.

CRIMP

Ensure the Maxillary Arm is fully seated in the Receiver.

Use an Orthodontic Hard Wire Cutter or Lab Cutter to crimp the Receiver on its O-G sides at two locations:

  • Near the funnel entry to the Receiver

  • At the mid-point of the Receiver

Bond

The APII device is ready to be bonded. Factory-installed Ligature Ties are attached to the Molar Attachment distal tie wings to avoid accidental disengagement of the Maxillary Arm from the Molar Attachment during bonding. Make sure to remove them after bonding is complete.
